  • Decide which personal items you want to pack yourself and put them to one side.
  • Identify valuable items of jewelry and personal things you want to carry with you and pack them carefully.
  • Make sure you have your tickets, hotel reservations, passports and other documents safely in one place.
  • Make sure you have returned rented items, such as televisions and videos etc.
  • Prepare garden tools for packing.
  • Motor mowers must be drained of oil and fuel.
  • Drain hosepipes and roll them carefully.
  • Non-toxic cleaning fluids can be sealed in plastic bags.
  • Dispose of oil, paint, aerosol cans and other flammable and toxic chemicals carefully.
  • Stay close to your packing supervisor so that you can identify those 'special' items.
  • Then when you arrive at your destination you will see the benefits of careful planning.
  • You will be asked to sign the inventory.
  • Keep your copies safe so when you move in you will be able to make sure that everything is correct.
  • Label and put aside small important items.
  • Sort all your keys into two bunches: those you want to take with you and those to leave behind.
  • Pack a 'survival kit' with all the small items you may need when you arrive. Organize with the neighbours to leave sufficient parking space for the removal vehicles.
It is important not to leave your search for an international relocation company until the last minute. Give yourself plenty of time to arrange relocation quotations, appoint a relocation company and finalize all of your arrangements. We recommend you make contact a minimum of 6 weeks prior to your planned moving date.
The cost of sea freight shipments are based on the total volume of your goods. It is generally calculated in CBM (Cubic Meter) .This is calculated by multiplying the length, breadth and height of the items, to give a total volume in cubic metre.

Air freight shipments are calculated on either the actual gross weight or the volume weight of the goods, whichever is greatest.
Volumetric weight = Total volume in (Cubic centremeter)/5000 Your Relocation Consultant will be able to accurately measure your goods at the time of the survey and provide a relocation quotation based on this measurement.
No two relocations are the same, so our quotation will be specifically tailored to your individual requirements. But some things are always included:
  • * Supply of all new packing materials
  • * Packing of your household goods and personal effects by trained, experienced packers
  • * Preparation of an itemized inventory
  • * Collection from your home
  • * Crating/containerization and delivery to the terminal
  • * Preparation of all export documentation and all import documentation for the completion of Customs and Agricultural Clearances
  • * Payment of terminal charges
  • * Delivery direct to store/residence
  • * Unpacking and clearance of all waste materials on day of delivery, as required.

The quotation will exclude any import duties or taxes due in various countries, quarantine examinations if ordered or storage if required. Your Relocation Consultant will be happy to explain this to you during the survey.
